Upcoming Events

Join B.C. Schizophrenia Society (BCSS) on Sunday, May 7, 2017 and run for schizophrenia awareness. For 2017, BCSS is once again an Official BMO Run4Hope Charity, a program developed to raise funds for social impact and community good through the BMO Vancouver Marathon. BCSS is very excited to be a part of it again and to prepare for this fantastic opportunity, BCSS is asking you to consider being part of their running team.

Runners can choose to participate in three courses – an 8 km race, half marathon or a full marathon. Beginner runners, experienced runner and runners of all levels in between are encouraged to participate. As part of the BCSS Running Team, you will have the fundraising tools you need to successfully raise dollars and awareness on behalf of the 1 in 100 individuals in B.C. (46,000 people) and their 24/7 caregivers who are challenged daily by the world’s most enduring and devastating brain disorder.

The Volunteer Team will be responsible for manning the water stations, cheering on runners, and providing information. We are ready to sign up individual volunteers or group volunteers – it’s more fun to support an event when your social circle signs up together! This is sure to be a fun-filled day out in the sun. Come help us make this event an outstanding success.

If you would like to participate, or if you have any questions, please contact Cynthia at 604-270-7841 (toll free 1-888-888-0029) or email philanthropy@bcss.org

National Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day
The Schizophrenia Societies across Canada have come together in a collaborative venture to raise awareness of schizophrenia and psychosis.

Every year on the 24th of May we want to paint the country purple!  We ask that you wear purple to show unity in bringing awareness to schizophrenia, and to show support for those affected by the illness.
